To answer the question What is going on with Swan Lake Resort? -let me begin by stating Richard and Pauline Klingler, who purchased the property in 2000 and made a considerable financial commitment to Plymouth and Marshall County in their initial purchase followed by the improvements added to transform Swan Lake into a true Resort, remain the sole and proud owners of Swan Lake Resort. The Klinglers are now in their 90's and have been advised to reduce the amount of properties they have as investments Reluctantly, they have decided to include Swan Lake Resort in the downsizing of properties owned. Swan Lake Resort was listed with Chris Charnas, Principal of Links Capital Advisors in Wilmette, Illinois a few weeks ago Mr. Charnas advises while there are buyers of hotels and buyers of golf courses, there are very few buyers who are able to manage both As there is no possibility of the property being divided, finding the right buyer will be a challenge and will require time. Mr. and Mrs. Klingler realize reducing the amount of properties owned could very well take years and remain committed in operating Swan Lake Resort as they always have. Improvements to the property will continue, our staff will continue to grow, and the 2018 Indiana Golf Course of the Year will continue to thrive.
