KNOX OF CITY ATED 1850 CHANGES TO SOLID WASTE AND RECYCLING PICK-UP Mayor Dennis Estok has announced that the City Council recently decided to switch from Waste Management to Republic Services, effective August 1st for the City's solid waste and recycling pick-up. After the last regular pickup, residents should leave their empty recycling cart out on Tuesday, July 27th. Waste Management will be removing their carts beginning on July 27th through July 29th. Republic Services' new trash and recycling toters will be delivered starting July 26th. Many residents will also see a change to their pickup schedule. Republic Services will pick-up trash on Thursday or Friday, depending on whether the residence is east or west of U.S. 35. Recycling will be picked up every other Thursday. The exact schedule still needs to be finalized. The new schedules will be included with the delivery of the toters.
